The value chain for cotton and clothes has fascinated me since I lived in Burkina Faso in 2005. A continent that grows cotton but is not able to compete with heavily protected cotton growers in other parts of the world. A continent that loves colourful clothes and extravagant outfits, while it defines their fashion through prints that were originally introduced by the Dutch based on their colonization of Indonesia. The FEED Project is a social enterprise in garment manufacturing in Nigeria.
